SMU Medical Robotics Laboratory Introduction:
Welcome to the Medical Robotics Laboratory (MRL) at Southern Medical University.
SMU MRL is founded in 2026 and afflilated with School of Biomedical Engineering, Southern Medical University, also with the Digital Diagnosis and Treatment Equipment Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Medical Image Processing, the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Technology. MRL is dedicated to developing robotics systems for various medical tasks, including medical robotics, micro-nano robotic manipulation, robotic cell surgery, in vitro fertilization (IVF), optical microscopy.
Our laboratory has two branches in Guangzhou and Shunde, which are located in Guangdong Province, the Greater Bay Area of China. MRL encompasses researchers with expertise in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. We welcome collaboration from all sectors of society to jointly advance the development of medical robotics systems.
